After the Olympic Stadium we took another cab ride! You have to believe me when I tell you that new york cabbie's got nothing on these guys and I have had a few crazy trips in New York! We make it to the Temple and the ticket has photo's on a computer disk. They do not like photos taken in the temples so I will have to share those photos later. But the Guinness book of world records for the largest budda is here. And it is HUGH!
Here is the gate at the temple.
The grounds here are amazing here right now. The temperature is nice and everything is flowering. In fact, while I snuck the camera back I caught a picture of Mengchen taking time out to smell the flowers.
Ok, I lost camera rights again as I am now being accused of being a sneaky rascal! While on the grounds they have this wheel that you spin to bring you happiness. I was spinning like a crazy man! Apparently you only get happiness when you spin the wheel and not Mengchen! I think I am in for more beatings later, but since this is a temple there is no violence here. So I will try to behave myself.
Well as you can see in this next picture, I didn't behave myself for very long!
Also since I lost the last bet, I needed something else to compete at.. I think that I won for the biggest mouth! This could also be a good example not to leave me alone for too long!
We sat down on a bench for a few minutes then we decided to go to get something to eat. We left the Temple and headed so some other location. We got there and Mengchen did the ordering, she tried to allow me to pick which roasted fish we would have. I only recognized "Catfish" the other types of fish I had no idea what they were, but it was fresh. It came in a big pan, and it had neat little mushrooms and another vegetable that I was unfamiliar with, and I forgot what she told me it was so I will need to come back and edit what it is. The texture of it was like that of a carrot or dicon. The soup was a soup that is tied to the lantern festival it was a bit sweet and the balls in the soup are a dumpling made of rice flower.
We ate the whole fish.. I was STUFFED! I think she is trying to fatten me up! She also tells me that because I eat so such small portions that I eat like a girl!! I suppose I don't need to eat that way since Jim gave up on our little wager! Right back at ya Jim! But we always get more food then I could have handled anyway.
We then went back to my hotel and rested a bit before we went to see the acrobat show. These people are amazing, it reminds me of the Cirque du Soleil's shows that I have seen on television. After that the time difference started to catch up with me! So we called it a day!
So I leave day two with a picture to show just how crazy the driving is here..
P.S. I didn't give up! If you slow down you will lose!
