Well this is going to be my last night in China. I wake up in the hole in the wall that I could afford with my Bank of America visa and head out to find breakfast.
Actually, we were originally talking about going to the Great Wall today but since I have the sniffles she says I am sick. Trying to say I don't understand is not getting my way to go to the Great Wall! So we took it a bit easy this morning. Mengchen actually came to the hotel with breakfast, one was a "Pig in a blanket" and the other was a doughy hot pocket that had sweet potato in it. They were both very good. I am interested in how they make that bread so soft without developing a crust on it. They must steam cook it which is a cooking experiment when I get home. The following picture is of the sweet potato.
So after we get everything together we decided that we would go to the world park today and save the Great Wall for the last day, since we need to get a driver to go out to the wall anyway, I can leave my luggage in the car while we are there.
So today Mengchen left me to go buy the tickets to the world park. Normally she goes to get the tickets to keep the lines moving smoothly. But my grunting 2 tickets seemed to work today and I was successful!
The world park was one of the places that she had sent me so many pictures of herself when we first met and I thought it was a neat place to go. We rented the lil electric car and started off in the wrong car! I was going to hotwire it but decided that it was easier to use the correct car, since I could not bring my leatherman with me I feel so naked!
My next attempt to impress her was with my stellar driving skills, but she lives in Beijing and takes taxi's all the time so my skills were not that impressive, but I still took the time to pose for a photo!
Now while these lil cars are cute, the legroom is not that good.. I found it easier to leave on outside which she thought was funny.
I also learned early on that you need to watch where you park your lil car as people like to try to steal it!! Good thing we caught those lil buggers on camera or no one would have believed me!
I should have read this inscription before Mengchen told me to put my hand in the mouth of this statue..
Anyway, most of the park is scaled down replica's of the national monuments of other countries. I will put a few in here..
Well that was some of the Fun that we had today!
